American Idol music producer Robin Kaye and her husband, musician Thomas DeLuca, were victims of a double homicide in Encino, Los Angeles. The two were found dead on Monday (14), according to police.
The couple’s bodies, both aged 70, were found in separate rooms of the house. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that they were shot to death.
Officers were called to the scene after someone close to the couple was unable to reach them. Authorities reported entering the home following a trail of blood leading to a glass door at the back.
DeLuca was located in the bathroom and Kaye in the pantry.
According to the official LAPD statement, evidence obtained from security cameras and testimonies from family and friends show that the suspect, Raymond Boodarian, was already inside the house before the crime occurred.
Authorities continue investigating to determine if Boodarian had any prior connection to crimes at the residence.

Robin Kaye was known for her extensive career in the music industry. She founded her own company, SyncroniCity, in 2000 and became a central figure in American Idol’s production in 2009.
Besides American Idol, she worked on other successful shows like Lip Sync Battle and Hollywood Game Night.
Thomas DeLuca was a singer and songwriter since 1986 and wrote songs for artists such as Diesel, Meredith Brooks, and Mickey Dolenz.
The American Idol program expressed sorrow over the tragedy in a statement:
“We are devastated by the news of Robin and her beloved husband Tom’s passing. Robin has been a backbone of the Idol family since 2009 and was deeply loved and respected by all who worked with her.”
“She will forever remain in our hearts. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends during this difficult time,” they concluded.
